Stadium Club 1991-2003

When Upper Deck came onto the baseball card scene in 1989, a lot of things changed. The UD cards were much higher quality with better photos, a high-gloss finish, and thicker card stock. In 1991 Topps came out with their premium set called Stadium Club

1991 Stadium Club was the first major baseball card set to feature a glossy UV coating on the front and back of the card. It also had a fancy gold foil stamping on the front along with a borderless Kodak photo. The flip side of the card also displayed an image of the player's first Topps card.

In 1991 Topps created Stadium Club Topps first premium set

The cards were limited to a production run of about 600. The first set was issued in two 300 card series and sold in foil packs.
